Sources include the Eat Out Woolworths Restaurant Awards, The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, the Luxe Restaurant Awards, the Gastronomy Tourism Awards, the Dineplan Reviewers’ Choice Awards, and aggregate Google review data.

The methodology
How the rankings come together.
The Rezzr Rankings are compiled from South Africa’s most respected culinary awards and independent review bodies. Every restaurant earns its place through recognition by at least one accredited authority whose judgement carries weight within the industry.
Entries are ordered by the weight and breadth of their accolades. Three-star winners and multi-award holders lead each list; single-award entries follow, ranked by the stature of the awarding body and the recency of the citation. Where a city’s awards coverage is thin, we draw on Dineplan Reviewers’ Choice data and aggregate Google review scores, disclosed in that list’s introduction.
